Week 4-Art Activity-Architecture & Urban Planning

In my design of CSULB, I decided to focus on grouping things that are more relative to each other and handling the issue of Coranavirus by implementing and adding new, but temporary measures to the campus. I tried to tackle the issue of grouping and sanitization. I reached these solutions (although it may seem a little silly) from things that we have already seen in hypothetical situations like the one we are in now. I was inspired by sci-fi/apocalypse movies and things I have seen from other countries.

My design addresses Education in the Internet Century because it focuses on small groups of people in which the majority are still staying indoors to learn. When learning in dorms, there is a sense of still having someone there so that it isn’t complete isolation, but also a preventative measure from also possibly getting sick from another person.

My design addresses Education in the Age of Corona by taking antibacterial measures and trying to go above and beyond to constantly keep clean and disinfect. Before each entryway to a building, there will now be tent-like rooms that will spray a safe disinfectant when walking into the building and out. In this sense, there is at least a more protective way to fight Corona, although it may seem extra.
